4Niiiiiiiiice EDC light
By Knife Knut
I’ll start off saying the one negative about the light. IT IS SLICK. There is no traction what so ever and can slip out of your hands if they are wet. This is the main reason why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. It really is slick in your hands and is kind of annoying.
However, it is bright, compact, priced about right, and I love the color. I also like the 6 modes the light gives you and the battery life is really good. This is my second 4Sevens light and it won’t be my last. This light works very well out of water and in water.
Like I said, the only thing I would change would be the traction on the outside.

4Great little(or not so little) light.
By kingsquee
The preon 2 has a great form factor, lumen output, production quality, and a wide variety of modes on an easy to use UI. The only issue I have is that I want a form factor of a Preon 1 with a push button UI like the preon 2. But no light is perfect, and this one certainly gets closer to perfect than most others I’ve used.

5good initial quality and bright
By OoThought
I needed the smallest brightest light that would take standard batteries for work (IT). I have a small pocket size toolkit I carry in my pocket almost all the time and this light fits in one of the pen slots.

Clearly the newer/more advanced battery form factors are superior. But, I needed standard batteries so that I can use the batteries the office provides and not buy my own.

This light is plenty bright enough to illuminate cabinets and inside equipment and even enough for above the ceiling tiles (considering the size of course). And there is nothing cheaply made on this light. It all looks like good quality aluminum.

The only thing I wish was different is the way the brightness setting is changed. I’m OK with quick double click, but I wish it would remember the last setting you left it at. As it is now, you have to cycle through the low and medium setting each time you turn it on. I’m sure others would prefer it the way it is. This isn’t enough to cost it a star though.

It is definitely the best and brightest pen light out there. I’ve checked out Fenix, Olight, and Coast/Led Lenser and none of their 2xAAA are this bright and this Preon is a little shorter than theirs too.
